Linux Gaming Fest
From BLUG
This is the first bi-annual Linux gaming fest. The idea is to show everyone, even Linux users, that Linux has many games available for it.
Synopsis
Bring your Linux systems and a network cable because we're going to play some network games on Linux, including:
- Armagetron
- BZFlag
- Tux Racer
- Legends
- TORCS
- Battle for Wesnoth
- Glest
- Gate 88
- Globulation 2
- Scorched 3D
- netPanzer
- Mistlands
- Fight Win Prevail
- Cube
- Cannon Smash
- Tornado (ascii-multiplayer-destroy-your-neighbors-house-with-weather game)
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- Neverwinter Nights
Even if you don't want to bring your computer, we may have an extra for you to use, plus it will be a great oppurtunity to see Linux in action and see other people's systems. Seating will be limited to please let me know (mark@slugbug.org) if you plan on bringing your computer to this event.
After fest summary
Only 5 people showed up, but that's ok. Jeff, Chris, Tyra, Marina and Mark had a lot of fun. I think the biggest problem was preparing the games to function between distributions.
We should have another one in early August or something.
