History of BLUG

BLUG has been around in one form or another since the mid 1990s. Some held meetings in the Monroe County Public Library (MCPL), others were held in pizza parlors or what not.

The previous incarnation of BLUG was done from 1999 through 2000 by Dave Monnier. The last presentation was given by Mark Krenz at the December 2000 meeting in MCPL room 1C. It was a presentation on bash shell usage. At some point in between December of 2000 and November of 2004, another short lived incarnation of BLUG was started in the library, but there seemed to be only one meeting.

In November of 2004 Mark Krenz began hosting regular BLUG meetings in the MCPL. Slowly the numbers have been growing and lately we have had more than 15 people at the meetings.

In January of 2007, Mark passed the torch of leadership onto Scott Blaydes.
