Mark Krenz will be giving a presentation on graphics software under Linux, including the following

      • Sharpen
      • Selecting regions to affect
      • Color curves
      • Scale image
      • Control jpeg compression
    • Making a montage
      • Loading multiple images
      • Clone tool
      • Layers
    • Plugins overview
      • Logos -> Basic II
      • Logos -> Blended
      • Logos -> Cool metal
      • Logos -> Glowing
      • Patterns -> Render Map
      • Buttons -> Simple Beveled Button
      • Filters -> Decor -> Old Photo
    • Other plugins


  • Inkscape
    • Make some symbols
    • Making a logo
    • Make a cartoon (if there is time)
  • Dia
    • Flowcharts
    • Database diagram
    • Network diagram
  • Gnumeric charts and graphs
    • Simple statistics
    • Making charts look nice

And if there is time:

  • How 3d raytracing works (very brief overview)
  • Povray
    • Let's make a reflective sphere on a checkerboard

This is a great oppurtunity to bring your friends who haven't seen what you can do in Linux. The BLUG Live DVDs will be available again for those that haven't picked one up yet.
